Lakers Grab 2nd Place at St. Francis Classic

The Lakers went 3-0-1 in pool play to advance to the Championship game.

Highlights 
Evan Lachimea and Jax Fonso led the Laker offense by both going 3-3 with 2 runs and an rbi respectfully and Ben Savor added a 2-3 at the dish to pace the Lakers to a 9-5 win in the opening contest
Mike Danchuk tossed 2 innings, striking out 3 and did not allow a run. Liam Willmore notched the save pitching the final two frames, striking out 4 batters.

Highlights
In the Laker's 2nd game of the day Jax Fonso once again led the Laker's attack at the plate going a perfect 2-2 with an rbi and Connor Psikila 1-2 with an rbi as well.
Mike Danchuk, Ben Savor and Liam Willmore were awesome on the mound piling up 12 striking between the 3 of them and limiting Chisago Lakes to 3 hits.

In a battle of unbeaten teams the Lakers erupted for 13 runs on 10 hits. Evan Lachimea was 2-4 with 3 runs scored and an rbi, while Mike Danchuk added a 2 run home run. Nolan Height had a bases loaded clearing triple that plated 3 runs.
Jax Fonso pitched the final 2 innings, holding the Tigers scoreless and striking out 2 batters.

In a game shortened to 3 innings due to the 10 run rule the Lakers exploded for 6 runs in the 1st inning and added 7 runs in the 2nd to win the game 13-2 and advance to the Championship game. Liam Willmore was 2-2 with 2 runs scored and an rbi and Jace Hart had a bases clearing double to notch 3 rbi to help pace the Lakers at the plate.
Jax Fonso, Ben Savor and Jackson Dubinsky held Big Lake in check over their 3 innings of work on the mound.
 
Championship game

Anoka Ramsey Cyclones                   7
In the Championship game the Lakers fought back from an early 2 run deficit to take a 4-2 lead in the top of the 5th. After falling behind 5-4 in the top of the 5th the Lakers plated one in the bottom of the frame to tie the game at 5-5. The Cyclones would score 2 in the top of the 6th to win the game.
Pacing the Laker's offense was Jax Fonso2-2 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi, Mike Danchuk 2-3 with a run scored, Connor Psikila 2-3 with an rbi, Jace Hart 2-3 and Tyler Hill with  a perfect 2-2 with a run scored.
The Thunder Bay Esso Lakers 11U are 12-2-1 on the year and their next tournament is June 24-26 at the Waite Park Babe Ruth Classic.
